While unfortunate, this is a very unusual response to mushrooms. Doing it while having SSRIs and SNRIs in your system (for ten years!) was pretty reckless.

You had a pre-existing condition, on top of that you were taking multiple pharmaceutical drugs to control it, and then you did mushrooms.

The story here is not about the mushrooms, it's about doing them in combination with pre-existing depression and SSRIs and SNRIs. I hope if you should publish more on this topic, you will make it clear that that was the case.

The title, and saying "If you don’t read this, you might be, too" is a bit of a scare tactic to get people alarmed and make them read the article. That is not helpful. It may be technically true, but it's statistically false.

Caution is a good idea; fear is not.

Aside from that, you sound very lucid and grounded, and are a talented writer. Alerting people to the dangers of drug combining is certainly important. I wish someone had been there to caution you.

I'm wondering if you might not end up viewing the experience in a more positive light. Your description of the trip sounds like there were actually some very positive things that came from it—and you got carried away. You're 31. You have lots of time to integrate it.

Best of luck!
